It's a great question, so what is this Charity Swear Box all about then?
It works pretty much the same as a real life swear box. Charity Swear Box is constantly on the look out for naughty swear words on twitter. When you enter your twitter name in the search box on our homepage we check all your past twitterings for any sign of a swear word. We add them all up and give you a suggested amount to donate to your favourite charity.
You can donate once or many times. We encourage you to connect your twitter account with us so we can follow your swearing. At the end of each month we will send you message letting you know how much you have sworn and your suggested donation. Again, you are under no obligation to actually donate. It's just a guide. To sign up hit the Sign Up button in the top right of the site.
You are not under any obligation to part with any money and we won't ask for your bank details like some naughty things do. You decide how much to donate and when.
The default amount is $1 but you can change this if it's too little or too much. The more you donate the higher up the leaderboard you go.
We dont store any of your tweets and only publish your tweets, leaderboard position and donations if you say we can. You can change you settings on your profile page.
This site was born in the minds of James Dow and Jay Gelardi, two creative friends who met whilst working together who wanted to do something good with the ideas part of their brains.
The site was designed by James Dow and Robert Evans who runs the very talented Telegramme studio, home of some very beautiful illustration.
Last but by no means least the site was developed by Rameet Chawla and his team at Fueled in New York who put a huge amount of work into the project.
In the spirit of collaboration everyone came together to create something fun, exciting, new and importantly; good for the world.
